IDEAA to offer tuition assistance towards Udacity’s Android Development for Beginners Course

International Developer Education and Advocacy Alliance Scholarship

August 24, 2015 - Hurst, Texas - IDEAA will be providing $200 scholarships to a handful of 2015 Big Android BBQ attendees to take Udacity’s Android Development for Beginners course. This scholarship will cover the cost of the full 4-week course that is designed “for students who are new to programming, and want to learn how to build Android apps.”  Little to no programming experience is required.

Whether you’re a student, a veteran, recently retired, or simply looking for a career change, IDEAA encourages anyone who may be interested in exploring mobile development to apply. To apply for this scholarship, send an email to [email protected]. Submissions can be up to 500 words in length; double-spaced; size 12pt sans serif font. The submission period is open now through midnight September 7, 2015.

A panel of IDEAA officers will evaluate, rank and vote on all submissions. Recipients will be chosen and notified by Friday, September 11, 2015. Scholarship recipients who complete the Udacity course and attend the Big Android BBQ on October 22-23, 2015 will have an opportunity to make a short presentation in the Big Android BBQ Code KitchenTM and will be eligible to win a scholarship towards a more advanced Udacity degree.
